Richard Moth, Bishop of Arundel & Brighton

It's always wonderful to receive an invitation from someone, especially from a person who is close to us or someone we respect and admire. The invitation is something that Jesus uses a good deal.

He says 'Follow me’ to his first disciples; ‘Come to me all you who labour and are overburdened’ to the crowds. ‘Come and see’ to Andrew and Peter when they asked where he lived.

There will be people whom you know, Catholics who – for a whole variety of reasons – have ceased to join us in the celebration of the Eucharist and who struggle on their pilgrim journey. You are the people who are best placed to offer them an invitation to share afresh in the life of faith. Do not be afraid to offer them a gentle invitation to ‘Come and See’.

Rt Rev Richard Moth
Bishop of Arundel and Brighton
